"It is color that drives Squires' work along with a keen eye for rhythm and inventive composition.....Squires' works are a pleasant walk through her mind's eye where surprise balances the anticipated."
(excerpt-"The Ink" 2/04)
Kathleen Squires was born in Wisconsin to native Texans, schooled in Montana, and has lived in the Southwest since 1963. She turned to art following a successful career in advertising and public relations.
"I continue to study and strive to achieve the apparent simplicity that comes from skill," she says. Her success as a fine artist is demonstrated by the numerous exhibitions in which she participates and in the private collections where her work resides.
In addition to her representation in galleries, juried exhibits and individual shows, Squires was one of the "The Five Painters", a group which gained recognition in 2004 through 2006 with major exhibits in Albuquerque, Las Cruces, Ruidoso, and Santa Fe NM, and El Paso TX.
